3-Ingredient Homemade Play Dough

I have 2 little children, and it’s winter. So, I decided to make the kids play dough. I usually try to avoid the stuff because my kids make a mess with everything, but I made this recipe for them a few months ago, and they did really well with it. It’s got more of a rubbery consistency, so it didn’t crumble like a lot of the other homemade kinds we’ve tried.

It’s SO easy to make! It just consists of baking soda, cornstarch, and water.

You put it in a pan, stir it together, then turn up the heat.

When it boils it will come together like a mashed potato consistency. It takes about 4-5 minutes.

Then when it’s all thick, just put on some wax paper.

From here, divide them up into a few different balls, and add food coloring to them.

My kids love play dough, and the house already needs to be cleaned, so I’m going to be easy going today!

Homemade Play Dough Recipe:

  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 2 cups baking soda
  • 1 cup cornstarch

Mix together, bring to a boil, dump onto a piece of wax paper, and add coloring.
